I was talking to someone the other day who said they drive an "automatic". What is an "automatic" car? I know, stupid question but I had to ask since I'v never heard the term.

I think I know what your talking about. "Automatic" might mean Automatic transmission in the car world, automatic transmission means you don't have to change gear ratios manually when your driving the car, the car does it for you.
