I feel kind of dumb asking, but at this point I really don't know what to do, so I figured I'll ask here to see if anybody else is having this problem, or if anybody else knows a fix.
For the past week or so, my itunes has been, well...I suppose unable to connect to the internet. I never expressly states this, it simply shows a big white background with the words ITUNES STORE in grey, and any time i try to look anything up, nothing loads, always the same thing, so it's never connecting. The ping/genius/whatever feature that recommends several songs based on which song of mine I'm clicking on also isn't working. Before this week it would show up in a messy format, but now it won't at all.
I've made sure to reinstall itunes. To make sure it was updated, do some of the tips people presented when I googled the issue, but still nothing! This is annoying because I have a card I'd like to use, and obviously it's useless if I cannot connect. My ipod and my mother and sister's ipads can connect to itunes as far as I know, so...it's just something with my computer, but I don't know what to do. D8

I never ran into this problem before. I would suggest checking the firewall or restoring your computer to a point you know you weren't having this problem for starters.
I don't know what your iPod can do, but I know I can redeem gift cards on an iPhone. I open the purple iTunes app, scroll down to the bottom, and tap "Redeem". I hope this info helps.

I might have to restore my computer to an earlier point in time at this rate, though of course I would prefer to avoid that option since I'm not sure if that will affect documents of mine.
Unfortunately my ipod isn't really all that usable. It's on its last leg of life, and i can't plug headphones into it and hear anything. I can really only use it if I put it in a dock, which is the reason I like using itunes on my computer, so that I can have music, movies, and show I can actually plug headphones into and listen. I've actually had this problem in the past, but then a quick update fixed it, so I don't know now. I will play around with my firewall, but if using itunes means completely shutting it off (which is what some people on google are suggesting), then I suppose I'll have to find something else for music.
D8 shame. I was hoping there was some kind of fix other than stuff like that, but there must not be! Only a few people asked on google, so between that and you never running into this, it seems a rare issue. Ohhh computer why. ;n;

I suggest turning it off to see if it works. If it does, then you at least know it's the firewall.

Yup! Unfortunately I did have to resort to resetting back pretty far in time. It seems to have worked a little more, still some issues, but at least now i can actually buy songs if I need to. Which I'm glad about! D8< but oh how i hate resetting the computer like that. I still wonder what the issue was....I wish itunes would have given a code or something so if it was a specific program or whatever I could have found that out to make sure it won't happen again in the future.

If you get a white screen like that it might mean you are "signed out of you itunes store account" I had that once. I don't know if your problem is the same or not.

No, I was absolutely signed into itunes when this problem happened. It was something with the internet or computer that just would not connect fully to the store, so alas like I said in the above I had to reset things to get it working again. :c
