No worries, guys, it's super easy! In 2 weeks, my Deaf Culture class will be having a discussion panel with some Deaf people and my teacher wants us to come up with a list of questions to ask them. I,however, am totally brain dead and can't even think of one thing to ask a Deaf person. I chit chat with them all the time, and I'm pretty familiar with thier "big issues". So, if you've got a question for a Deaf person or just curious...lemme know! I can get you the answers you want and... it helps me with my farting brain.

What was your experience like academically? How did you learn? That's all I can come up with at the top of my head. I noticed that googling "questions to ask a dead person" bring up a lot of results.

I'd like to know if they like to go to concerts or movies or things like that... I know it may seem like a silly question, but still, it is always something I have been really curios about.

Well this may seem like a creepy and stupid question but are they ever afraid that some robber could break into their house without them knowing because they can't hear?? If I were deaf I'd be scared of that. Told ya it was a creepy question.

Don't mean to spoil your question but I know for a fact deaf people watch movies and concerts. For movies they used either open or closed captions which are basically subtitles that describe all the sound and dialogue in the movie. (close captions mean you have to press a button to get the captions to come on and open caption means you don't have to press a button to see them) For concerts people who have a little bit of hearing left can use special devices that look like headphones. I admire your curiousity. It is a great question. That's all I know though. I would love to know how those headset/headphone device things work and what deaf people do when they want to see a movie in theaters but the movie does not have captions???

My ASL 1 teacher enjoyed going to Stomp and watching the make "music" with trash. (Her words, not mine.) She could hear them a little bit with her hearing aid in. Whether or not Deaf people LIKE captions... well, that depends on the person. I'll still ask about that Sneakerz. ^_^ I want to know if they get anything out of rock concerts... Thanks for the help guys.

Thanks for the help guys. You're welcome. Here is another question I just thought of. Would deaf people prefer to have open captions or closed captions?? If I were deaf I'd prefer closed captions so not everyone has to read the captions just because I'm there watching.
