Ok I needed to get a DropBox to share a 1 GB file. What I am wondering is, how do I copy a video file after someone sends it to me so it does not get removed from the shared folder? I have a macbook pro and someone told me I need to "option" "click" but what do I do during/after that that will insure that the file does not get removed from the folder?? I.e what happens when I "option" "click" ? Please reply and explain in detail if possible?!!! Thanks!!

How do you copy files on a Mac? Just do that. I'm unfamiliar with Macs, but just copy the file to your desired location. I like to copy and paste. (That's what I'll show you)
Right click on the video file. (If your mouse does not have a right click button, left click while pressing the control key [the key next to the space bar])
This drop down pops up. Select "copy"
Navigate over to your desired location. Then, right click at an empty space to bring the drop menu down and select "paste"
I hope this helps out. Perhaps a more experienced Mac user could show you how she copies files.

Is it possible to open the video file and then save it to a different location on your computer? I have Dropbox on my laptop, and that method seems to work for Word documents. I've never tried it for video files before though.

The person I'm working with wants me to be able to copy dropbox files without accidentally removing them from the shared folder so just opening and saving the file may not work. Blizzy, what you said sounds more like what the person wanted me to do so if I use dropbox again I'll try that. How many times do I click?? Once?? I'v been told on my computer "option" then "right click" is how to bring up the drop down menu but I wasn't sure.
To be safe I downloaded google drive and put the file in there and that's what we have been using for now. Google Drive has more GB space so I like it better. My video files are huge.
